In response to Battlefield 2042’s “polarising” Specialists, it will introduce a class system in early 2023 with the game’s 3.2 update. Season 3, which is titled Escalation, will be revealed fully later this month. “We’re already in pre-production on new content that will come after Season 4 next year,” the studio revealed. While publisher EA had previously committed to releasing four seasons of live service content for Battlefield 2042 over the course of a year, DICE said today that more content is on the way too. Xbox players will be able to sample the title free of charge from December 1-4, Steam players from Dec 1-5, and PlayStation players from December 16-23.
Free Battlefield 2042 access periods on all platforms are also planned for December.
